Acanthocardia spinosa Gallery
Shell thick and strong, very solid, heart-shaped. Thick radial ribs, narrowly spaced, provided with sculptered thorny hook. Two cardinal teeth in each valve. This mollusk takes place in sand and mud, mostly between 10 and 120 mts of depth in water with temperatures not exceeding 22 celsius degree, Discovered by Solander, 1786.
